LAHAD DATU 5 Mac - Kira-kira 20 mayat pengganas Sulu setakat ini sudah ditemukan beberapa jam selepas serangan dilakukan oleh pasukan keselamatan ke atas kumpulan penceroboh itu di Kampung Tanduo di sini awal pagi.
Sumber Utusan Online memberitahu, operasi pembersihan masih diteruskan bagi mencari saki-baki pengganas. - UTUSAN ONLINE
Polis masih menjalankan operasi susulan dan penggeledahan di Kampung Tanduo, Lahad Datu kerana percaya masih ada musuh di kawasan seluas empat kilometer persegi itu.
Ketua Polis Negara, Tan Sri Ismail Omar berkata, tindakan susulan selepas serangan ofensif terhadap kumpulan pengganas itu dijalankan secara berhati-hati bagi memastikan keselamatan anggota polis dan tentera.
"Saya tidak mahu melihat anggota pasukan keselamatan menjadi mangsa," katanya pada sidang akhbar di sini hari ini.
Pasukan keselamatan terdiri daripada polis dan tentera melakukan serangan ofensif terhadap pengganas dari Sulu di Kampung Tanduo pada pukul 7 pagi.
Sementara itu, Ismail menafikan laporan media Filipina yang mendakwa kumpulan daripada keluarga Kiram menemui mayat anggota pasukan keselamatan Malaysia dan dakwaan keluarga itu bahawa mayat penceroboh diperlakukan tanpa perikemanusiaan.
"(Kenyataan) itu tidak tepat sama sekali. Saya dukacita dengan laporan itu, sepatutnya mereka merujuk kepada pihak rasmi," katanya.
Beliau berkata, laporan seumpama itu adalah satu dakyah yang boleh menggugat ketenteraman awam di Sabah. - BERNAMA
